| Our client is looking to recruit a Veterinary Surgeon to start at their mixed practice in Reading, Berkshire. This position is to start in June 2012. They have been in existence for 85 years, they are a family practice who always hope to build long term relationships with all clients and their pets by providing exceptional veterinary care plus maintaining friendly and approachable environment. They are currently a 4.25 vet mixed practice with a central base in this location and two branches. Their main surgery is a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre and one branch is an ATC. They offer complete care for both small animals (90%) and large animals (10%). Some of the services / facilities they offer include: Puppy and kitten clinics, obesity clinics, rabbits, worms and fleas, operating theatre, x-rays, ultrasound, blood tests, full health plans for LA and regular consultations with individual farms as and when necessary. They will consider all levels as a long as you are confident enough to hit the ground running. There is 10% Large animal work involved in this, but full training and support can be given if needed. 1 in 4 on call rota and with on call and late surgery each week. Currently they have a 1:4 full weekend rota and a 1 in 4 weekends with just a Saturday morning. So you would get 2 full weekends of each month. You get half day off when full weekend worked. With this you do get a lot of time off in the day to go shopping etc. They are flexible and a good salary with the above. Accommodation is available, which will be a flat.
