| Our client situated in Northumberland are looking for an experienced, friendly Veterinary Surgeon to join their small two vet mixed practice based in beautiful Northumberland. They have 4 support staff forming a close knit team. The position is available on a permanent basis. They are a tier 2 small animal practice and a training practice. Their work ratio is around 60% small animal, 30% equine and 10% farm. They cover their own on call and holidays so flexibility is a must. They are looking for a like minded vet who is a true team player. You will need to be motivated, organised and able to prioritise your own workload. As they put the emphasis on the “friendly practice” and not “maximum profit” you will need to have good people skills, be caring and understanding whilst also being open and honest at the same time. New graduates will be considered. There will be periods of sole charge so the right candidate will need to be able to work on their own initiative and be proactive. There is a two week working rota in place with on call included but Wednesday off. One hour lunch 9-5 and 2 hours 9-7 unless in sole charge. In addition you will work one Thursday till 7pm once every four weeks but will have a 2 hour lunch. You will be entitled to 6 weeks holiday per year. You will be required to cover the other vets holidays and during these periods will work all the on call and Wednesday. You will be paid when covering holidays – rates will be negotiated as part of the contract. Experience is not essential for the right candidate, salary will be dependent on experience, a car may be provided.
