Are you looking for a new opportunity as a Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon in Pembrokeshire, West Wales?

We are working with a lovely practice in the very heart of Pembrokeshire that is seeking to recruit a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent full-time basis. This position would be suitable for both expert and newly graduated vets.

The Practice:

This veterinary group offers a wide range of services for farm clients including:

  • Herd health and productivity planning
  • Routine fertility work including data mining for Interherd and CIS users
  • Mastitis investigation
  • Disease outbreak investigation
  • Young stock checks
  • Lameness prevention and treatment.

At this practice they care for their clients pets and farm animals providing the best quality service possible. They deal with emergencies, preventative healthcare, and everything in-between.

Surrounded by the stunning scenery of the National Park, in an area rated by National Geographic Traveler magazine as one of the top 2 coastal destinations in the world. So this is a great place to live, work and play!

The Role:

Are you looking for a full-time permanent farm animal position in Southwest Wales?

This full-time position benefits from an excellent holiday package, well funded CPD, group membership of BVA and BCVA and RCVS and OCQV fees paid pay the practice.

This predominantly cattle practice has a good proportion of dairy work, allowing plenty of regular fertility visits, LDA surgery and general production medicine, as well as Caesarean sections. You will be required to be part of the out of hour rota which includes a 1:6 weeknight and a 1:5 weekend rota and benefits from a half day of in lieu of a night on call or a full day off for a weekend worked.

This a highly supportive and expert team of vets and lay staff provide a fantastic environment for a recently qualified vet to develop their talents and build a reputation for themselves within their friendly farm clients. They minimal equine work, with a choice of great horse practices on their doorstep. They have a full-time TB tester that does the majority of the TB testing, enabling the clinical team to focus on health and production, with a light amount of the remaining tests.

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary circa £30,000 p/a, which could be more with experience. A vehicle is provided for work and commuting with a company fuel card and they can help to find suitable accommodation if required.
