We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our clients strong, independent practice in Lanark on either a full or part-time basis.
This small animal practice has been established for over a decade and forms part of a mixed veterinary centre. They are split into three areas, small, farm and equine and all are co-ordinated from the main purpose-built branch in Lanark
The small animal division operates over four centres and despite the changes in the provision of emergency care by many other veterinary practices in South West Scotland, this client is still dedicated to providing all of their own 24 hour emergency services. This give peace of mind to their clients that they can contact a veterinary surgeon at their time of need.
They treat all forms of first opinion problems in cats, dogs, small mammal pets, birds, fish and reptiles. As well as performing the full range of routine medicine and surgery, they also use digital x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, laser treatment, arthroscopy, nuclear scintigraphy (bone scanning), acupuncture, extracorporeal shock therapy and a well-equipped in-house laboratory to assist in our treatment and diagnostic capabilities.
Separate kenneling is provided for cats and dogs, with full hospitalisation facilities, and a purpose built operating theatre and surgical preparation room. They also provide a specialist in-house cardiology service. The practice also actively promotes the development of qualified veterinary nursing staff.
This 12 strong SA veterinary team works alongside a competent team of 18 VNs, they also have an in-house orthopaedic referral service and visiting pet rehabilitation consultant.
This permanent role is either full or part-time, so a flexible working patterns will be considered to support individual needs. As part of this practices' commitment to their loyal clients there is a shared rota between the vet team to cover the out of hour requirements, and the full-time position will be include in this. The on call rota contribution is negotiable for part-time positions. Generous time off in lieu is given for OOHs worked.
