We are currently working with an established, independent veterinary practice in Yeovil, Somerset that are looking to recruit a small animal Lead Veterinary Surgeon. You will be joining a lovely practice in Somerset that has a team of 2.5 Vets, and a dedicated support team of RVN's, Student Nurses and Reception staff.
Our client believes that their clients’ pets should receive the best possible care without having to travel and as such, they have invested in excellent facilities to provide these services which include:
• Operating facilities with only the most complicated procedures being referred to outside specialists
• Digital X-ray facilities to investigate bone and internal problems
• Ultrasound scanning to aid diagnosis of difficult cases
• Endoscope for digestive investigation
• ECG (Electro Cardio Graph) to check heart rhythm
• Blood Pressure Monitor
• Modern dental equipment
• Hospitalisation facilities with heated kennels for pets requiring expert nursing care
This is a full-time position, and you will running a practice consisting 2.5 Vets. Alongside this, you will be working with an excellent support team of 2 RVN's, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and a great reception team.
Hours are Monday - Friday either 8.00-17.30 or 10.00-19.00
1 night on call per week.
1:3 Saturdays 8.30-11.30/12.00 with no on call
1:6-1:8 Saturdays 8.30-11.30/12.00 then you would remain on call
This position would suit a confident Vet looking to progress into a Lead Vet position. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the practice and shaping the practice whilst taking the practice forward.
In return, our client is offering a very competitive salary DOE + 5 weeks holiday + Bank holidays + £900 CPD (Extra if it may benefit the practice). Temporary accommodation can be provided on a short-term basis - for example, whilst the Vet settles in and gets to know the area if relocating (the accommodation has a shared kitchen with the practice and was designed for a vet and nurse during OOH’s - It’s not a private flat and is adjoined to the practice)
To qualify for this position, you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
