We are currently recruiting for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon for a veterinary practice based in Tamworth, they are looking for an enthusiastic veterinary surgeon with good communication skills to join their team on a permanent basis.
This practice is the largest local vet practice in the area and has been established for over 100 years and has two locations, Tamworth and Atherstone. Both locations are RCVS accredited small animal practices. The Tamworth surgery is also a registered Veterinary Nurse Training Practice.
The practices have nine veterinary surgeons and thirteen nurses that provide the best clinical care in the area. The practice has experience in orthopaedic surgery (bone, joint and spinal surgery), soft tissue surgery, eye problems (ophthalmology), heart problems (cardiology), skin problems (dermatology), arthritis management and cancer treatment.
The practice also offers many advanced surgical procedures both to their clients and to other veterinary surgeons by referral. These include spinal surgery, fracture repair, joint surgery, laparoscopic keyhole surgery (including spays), arthroscopy and canine total hip replacement.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 4.5 days per week. The practice provides their own out of hours service in house, therefore there is an OOH requirement with this position.
There will be a 1:4 Saturday morning requirement and a 1:8 full weekend with the whole of the next week off.
This is an excellent opportunity for career development, with access to and support from Certificate Holders and an established mentoring programme, the practice is keen to take on a new graduate but will also consider a more experienced vet. Communication skills are essential for this position.
