We are working with a fantastic growing independent practice in Shrewsbury that is looking for an experienced and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their wonderful team on a permanent basis.
This small animal practice is situated in the beautiful market town of Shrewsbury within walking distance of the town centre. The town is extremely well connected via rail and air transport. The practice is airy and well-equipped with facilities; it has been professionally designed to ensure a pleasant and relaxing environment for their clients and their pets.
The team is highly-qualified; the full-time vet is an Advanced Practitioner, working alongside an experienced part-time vet, as well as two regular visiting vets both holding certificates. They have an excellent team of nurses and non-clinical support staff on hand to assist the vets.
The practice sees exceptionally lovely clients who champion their high-quality work-ups, excellent facilities and individual care.
This is a permanent position open to both full and part-time candidates. As full time the role entails a regular 4 day working week, plus 1 in 4 weekends; involving working Saturday morning and one hour on a Sunday. There is a Bank Holiday rota of 1:3, but Easter and Christmas are covered externally. There is no emergency on-call responsibility.
In return the practice can offer an above-average salary, excellent CPD funding with encouragement to develop an area of special interest. There is also a two-bedroom, spacious, modern flat available from Spring 2019 as part of the salary package if required.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in practice. They need to be a confident vet with a clear thinking, methodical approach, who is not intimidated at the prospect of working up cases to a high standard with a matching bed-side manner – affable, quietly confident, relaxed and enjoy discussing cases with the practice’s well-educated clients.
