We are currently working with an independent practice in Lincolnshire who are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.

The Practice:

The practice was established in 2007, and is purpose built. They now have dedicated dog and cat wards, a theatre suite, diagnostic imaging room (including radiography and ultrasonography capabilities), laboratory facilities (in-house blood test can be processed within as little as 15 minutes), bereavement area separate to the main clinic and isolation area.

The practice has a conscientious team of veterinarians, registered veterinary nurses and nursing assistants who will care for their patients with the utmost respect.

The nurses carry out advice clinics on weight loss/gain, adolescent/geriatric patients and dental care, with the ability to offer further clinics to cover all their clients’ needs.

The Role:

This is a full-time, permanent nursing position working on a shift pattern of three 4-day weeks and one 4.5-day day week per month, but this could be flexible for the right candidate.

The practice uses an external provider to cover “out-of-hours”, but if they have an inpatient that needs to be checked then the nurses would need to be available for this and would be paid at double-time.

The weekend rota is to be confirmed at either 1:4 or 1:6, and would involve being in practice on Saturday mornings between 8am and 12:30pm.

This is a general nursing role, including theatre days, reception duties, cleaning, blood sampling, inpatient care and clinics.

In return the practice can offer a salary of around £21,000 depending on experience and hours worked, plus £500 CPD allowance.

The Candidate:

The practice is willing to consider applicants of all experience levels. The ideal candidate will be a RVN but an experienced VCA could be considered. The practice is looking to receive applications from team players who show initiative, and are happy to fill in where needed, as well as having a good work ethic and sense of humour.
