We are currently working with a friendly, independent practice in Wiltshire that has been providing excellent care for animals over many years, in their local community. They are currently looking to recruit a Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time permanent basis.
This is a mixed RCVS accredited practice situated in Somerset, a beautiful county featuring a dramatic coastline, epic English countryside and historic places. They have 4 surgeries and currently employ 14 dedicated vets and 25 nurses working with small animals. This clinic offers a wide range of services which include: ultrasound scanning, endoscopy, dentistry, ECG, on-site laboratory, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, laparoscopic bitch spays, cardiology, chemotherapy, X-rays, dog training and behaviour advice. Their nursing team effectively contribute to the overall care provided for their clients and patients in their companion animal division. Working in their four well-equipped surgeries, their steadfast and professional team of nurses run their own clinics which include dental check-ups, puppy parties, mobility, weight and nutrition management, plus they also care for their hospitalised patients and assist with all surgical and medical procedures. This is a training centre that places great importance on the support and development of their team which also includes student nurses, animal care & kennel assistants.
This would be a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, 8 hour shifts, between 07:30 and 19:00. The weekend rota is 1:10 and they alternate between working a full weekend 07:30 – 16:00 on Saturday and Sunday. The other would be working 08:00 – 12:00 and then back in from 16:00 – 19:00 on Saturday. Sunday would be 16:00 – 19:00. You would be back up on-call this weekend but there is a dedicated night team, so it is very unlikely you would be called in. You will also be on a back up on-call rota once a month but, the same as above, it’s very unlikely you will be called in.
This is a friendly, busy, forward thinking practice where ideas are welcomed. The post would suit an enthusiastic nurse who is looking for a position with more responsibility, leading a dynamic team and who has ambition to succeed within a progressive environment.
