We are currently working with a unique, and delightful independent practice that is based 15 minutes from Cheltenham/20 minutes from Bristol that is looking to recruit a small animal veterinary surgeon to join their growing team and expanding practice.
Our client was set up over 12 years ago to offer a completely unique service to the local community because they are prepared to visit pets by appointment in the home throughout their local Gloucestershire villages and community. The practice now employs 4 vets, 4 veterinary nursing assistants, and 3receptionists. Their strength lies in their personable, friendly approach and the fact that they have forged and built strong caring relationships with their clients and patients. They offer a 24 hour emergency service every day of the year plus they have very good facilities and services which include: reception, waiting room, 2 operating theatres, X-ray, ultrasound scanning, dentistry, laboratory tests, routine neutering, health checks and vaccinations, delivery of prescriptions and medicines to the door, collection and return of a pet where needed for all operations and anaesthetics, pet passports and travel advice, routine flea and worming treatments, micro-chipping, weighing and dietary advice.
This is a permanent full-time position working 4.5 days per week, Monday to Friday 8.30-18.30 on an early or late shift with a half day off during the week, plus 1 night per week out of hours, and a weekend rota of 1:4 on call from 18.30 on Friday through to Monday 8.00 with Saturday morning 8.30 – 12 noon in practice - this will include some sole charge.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, adaptable and friendly with excellent people and customer service skills. This post would suit a more experienced vet who is confident in routine veterinary procedures and has good communication and customer service skills.

WE: 1:4 Saturday morning 8.00 – 12 noon with the remainder of the weekend on call
OOHs/On Call: 1 night per week
Sole Charge: Some when on call/out of hours
Consult Times: 30 mins in the field/15 mins in practice
Computer System: RxWorks
Salary: Highly competitive & negotiable – dependent on experience + CPD+ car allowance + RCVS fees
Car: Required - car allowance provided - or use of one of the practice vehicles
Experience: Minimum 2 years + experience
