We are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy and hardworking team in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
There are 7 vets and 7 nurses working at this busy practice. They have a Pet Passport and export service, extensive in house lab facilities, dental suite, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and certificate holders. Their veterinary centre has achieved the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Tier 2 accolade, an enormous honour and a reflection of the quality and the dedication of the staff, and in recognition of the level of investment made in the facilities and equipment.
The practice is currently reviewing the structure of their nursing team and so the role is very flexible at this stage.
They ideally require a full-time RVN working 40 hours per week on a rota basis but consideration will be given to alternative hours to suit the candidate. They are 8 hour shifts between 08:00 & 19:00, with a lunch break in between.
There is a weekday out of hours requirement which works out to be 1:5 and when you work the later shift until 19:00 you will be on-call from then until 22:00 when you will complete an inpatient check and then back on-call again until the next morning.
There is a weekend rota which is also 1:5 and this is a Saturday in practice from 08:30 until 12:30 then on-call and inpatient checks until Monday. There is a 1:5 Saturday rota as well which is just to work in practice.
The practice would also consider taking on a nurse to work part of the out of hours service in a developing role to cover the night telephone duties and care for the inpatients. The details and terms of this role are open for discussion with the client.
The salary on offer is negotiable depending on the amount of experience you have. CPD is offered too at £500 per year, which is also negotiable depending on what course you would like to do.
To qualify for this position, you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
