We are searching for a variety of Veterinary Specialist to work at a brand new referral centre based in West Yorkshire.
This role is for an Neurology Specialist on a full-time permanent basis.
Emerging from a successful referral service, our client will open the doors to its brand new, purpose-built referral centre in Wakefield, offering exceptional patient care with cutting-edge veterinary medicine and addressing key issues facing referral vets in the region. Their extensive facilities will be housed in what will be one of the largest and best equipped purpose-built small animal referral centre in the UK. They share a clear vision, to deliver the best, most caring and highly advanced treatment possible to patients and their owners in the North of England. Their state-of-the-art facilities are situated in pleasant, clean surroundings allowing the highest level of care, providing a high level of service to the client.
Their new facilities will include Digital imaging department, fixed 1.5T 18 channel MRI whole body scanner, 16 slice CT scanner, X-Ray and fluoroscopy, Endoscopy, Ultrasound and electro-diagnostics, operating microscopy, 24 hour intensive care facilities, 5 Ultra-hygienic operating theatres, 8 consulting rooms, spacious and comfortable waiting room with a separate cat waiting area.
They are committed to providing a multi-disciplinary referral service for patients, their owners, and referring vets. Their disciplines will include; Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery.
The Candidate and Role:
We are seeking an Experienced Neurology Specialist to work in our clients specialist multi-disciplinary referral service. This will be a permanent, full time position.
The successful applicant will hold, or be eligible to sit, a European Diploma (or equivalent) and have had significant exposure to neurosurgery. You will share our clients aim of providing the best possible level of care for clients, their pets and for referring veterinary surgeons.
You will have an excellent team of support staff who will give you the opportunity to concentrate on your clinical caseload and to work in a pleasant, supportive and good humoured atmosphere. Facilities will include a superbly equipped intensive care unit and wards, including an iCatCare accredited cat-friendly cat ward. In-patient care is a priority and includes 24 hour veterinary and nursing attention, with support from dedicated high dependency nurses and experienced interns. Their new diagnostic imaging equipment and team of Board Certified Imaging Specialists, will provide unsurpassed diagnostic imaging support to all their clinicians.
As part of a truly multi-disciplinary team, you will work alongside other specialists in the disciplines of soft tissue surgery, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, imaging and anaesthesia, and our philosophy is very much one of friendly co-operation between clinicians in every specialism. As with all their disciplines, the post will include out-of-hours emergency service provision, shared amongst the neurology team.
This position will be well remunerated, and the package includes 6.6 weeks' paid holiday including bank holidays and one week of funded CPD each year, a week for approved committee or examining commitments, a non-contributory pension and private healthcare.
