We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established small animal practice based in Rustington which is on the south coast of West Sussex. Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon on a permanent full or part time basis.

The Practice: 

This a well-established, independent small animal practice that has a large and committed client base. The practice prides themselves in providing owners and their pets a personable and compassionate medical and surgical support. Their dedicated service is provided in their modern, purpose-built premises which comes with a dedicated surgical theatre. They are a small animal RCVS accredited practice, with all the usual toys! Including: In-house Laboratory, Automatic X-rays and developing facilities, In-house Dental Suite, Access to Ultrasound facilities, In-house & local OOH, Modern PMS system – RoboVet. The excellent support team consists of 2 full-time and 2 part-time Qualified Veterinary Nurses, 2 receptionists and a practice manager, working alongside 2 vets. 

The Role:

This is a full-time role working 35 hours a week on average, with 2-3 early finishes a week. There is a weekend out of hours rota of 1:12, with 1:2 Saturday mornings, and a weekday out of hours rota of 1:4. There is time off given in lieu for weekend work. 

The Candidate:

The vet will enjoy caring for clients and their pets on an individual basis. You will have excellent communication skills and bedside manner, and strive to deliver outstanding veterinary care and customer service to the practice’s loyal clients. You will have a strong desire to bond with clients and get to know their pets and build your own client base. You will be team focused and encouraged to work up cases to the highest level and go that “extra mile” to ensure that client satisfaction and clinical services are delivered. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience and preferably experience of working sole charge, but this is not essential.
