We are working with an established client in New York ( New Jersey), who have plans to build a state of the art 35,000 s.f hospital, 22 miles away from down town Manhattan. The hospital will near completion around Nov/Dec 2018.

The Practice:

The hospital will be built to a high spec and include luxury day care suites, 8 exam rooms and a basement hydro therapy suite. The hospital will include all the facilities you would expect of a large hospital including a brand new MRI unit. The feel of the practice is fun and there is a real team and family ethos at the current practice and this would very much like to be carried over to the new site.

The Role:

Dependent on the candidate, the role will be fairly standard including consulting and surgery. If you are a specialist you would be expected to work within the field that you specialise in. There would be elective OOH’s should this be of interest, but no requirement should this not suit. The salaries would start at $100,000 for a GP vet and increase D.O.E.

The Candidate and Requirements:

As well as being a good vet with at least 2- 3 years’ experience, the ideal candidate will be in a good position to move to New York. The requirements to practice in America are quite complicated, so if you graduated from a AVMA accredited school this is extremely desirable. For the UK this is Edinburgh, RVC, UCD and Glasgow. If you haven’t graduated from an AVMA accredited school, you would need to sit the ‘North American Veterinary Licensing Examination’ (NAVLE) in order to be eligible to practice in New York.

Please see link’s below for list of accredited vet schools and information about the NAVLE
