We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a small animal Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis (part-time hours would be considered) to start at a friendly practice in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This role would suit an experienced RVN due to the busy nature of the practice.

The Practice:

Our client offers the latest state-of-the-art equipment, to ensure prompt diagnoses and the most effective treatments. Their purpose built, modern surgery has been designed to industry-leading standards and has state of the art equipment including in-house operating theatre and laboratory, digital x-ray, specialist dental equipment and much more. Their highly trained veterinary surgeons and nurses are kept constantly updated on the latest innovations and protocols. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and they are always committed to providing exceptional veterinary services. As a result see a varied and interesting case load. Regularly tackling orthopedics and complex soft tissue surgeries as well as hospitalisation for those in need. They have fully digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscope as well as blood pressure, ECG and Capnography. To complement their facilities they have 2 certificate holders with 3 more in the process by their progressive team members.

The Role:

The practice is seeking an enthusiastic permanent registered veterinary nurse to work on a full-time basis, 40 hours per week. The shift pattern cover the practice opening hours and will include a weekend rota of 1 in 5. Our client is looking for quality applicants and will offer this position to an assertive, enthusiastic person with an outstanding grasp of the ‘hands-on’ clinical work.

The Candidate:

The practice are looking for a confident person with excellent technical skills. Clinical experience assisting in a high-volume veterinary practice, as all their staff are cross-trained and you will often be responsible for everything from the patient being admitted to being discharged. You’ll be confident at placing catheters, administering and monitoring anesthesia, as you’ll be supervised but not handheld or micromanaged. You’ll also be dealing with clients through consultations giving advice and liaising regarding their pets care. You’ll answer phone calls positively, in line with our practice philosophy in this progressive and forward thinking practice.  Previous clinical experience is absolutely essential, as you will need to hit the ground running.
