We are currently working with an independent practice in Sleaford, Lincolnshire who are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.
The practice was established in 2007, and is purpose built. They now have dedicated dog and cat wards, a theatre suite, diagnostic imaging room (including radiography and ultrasonography capabilities), laboratory facilities (in-house blood test can be processed within as little as 15 minutes), bereavement area separate to the main clinic and isolation area.
The practice has a conscientious team of veterinarians, registered veterinary nurses and nursing assistants who will care for their patients with the utmost respect.
The nurses carry out advice clinics on weight loss/gain, adolescent/geriatric patients and dental care, with the ability to offer further clinics to cover all their clients’ needs.
This is a full-time, permanent position working on a shift pattern of 3 or 4 days per weeks and 1 rare night per week. The practice uses an external provider to cover “out-of-hours”, but if they have an inpatient that needs to be checked then the vet would need to be available for this and would be paid at double-time.
The weekend rota is to be 1:4 and would involve being in practice on Saturday mornings between 8am and 12:30pm.
In return the practice can offer a salary starting at around £30,000 plus depending on experience and hours worked, plus CPD allowance etc.
The practice is willing to consider applicants of all experience levels but would prefer someone with 2+ years experience. The ideal candidate would be happy to take on some lead vet duties in the future. The practice is hoping to receive applications from team players who show initiative, and are happy to fill in where needed, as well as having a good work ethic and sense of humour.
