We are working with a practice based in Northampton that is looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis.
Rated “Outstanding” by the RCVS across multiple categories including Emergency and Critical Care, Team and Professional Responsibility, Client Service, Patient Consultation Service and Diagnostic Service and rated “Good” in In-Patient Service, you would be joining an established and well respected team in the centre of Northampton. They have also just been accredited RCVS hospital, which is a great achievement!
The practice is just a 10 minute walk from Northampton train station which has direct trains into central London. There is free onsite parking and easy access to the M1 and A43 for vets preferring to commute by car. You enter the practice into a bright, spacious reception with separate dog and cat waiting areas. The practice has 5 air conditioned consult rooms, a large prep area, separate dog, cat and isolation wards, theatre, X-ray and ultrasound lab, pharmacy and colleague rest area.
You would be joining a busy practice with a varied and interesting caseload including complex and orthopaedic surgery. This is a permanent position for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon. This is a full time role with a weekend rota of 1 in 4. The rota works to a 4 day working week which allows great work/life balance. There is also no sole charge responsibility. You will be working alongside 8 vets, 9 RVNs, 5 student nurses, 2 veterinary care assistants, 7 receptionists and a practice manager and assistant practice manager. The team benefit from having a certificate holder in general practice with another two vets working towards their surgical certificates. The partners are hugely encouraging of all further study and development and offer a generous CPD allowance.
Our client is looking for someone confident, friendly and enthusiastic with great communication skills. You’ll have good general small animal surgical and medical abilities and a desire to learn and improve. Ideally you will have experience of working in a busy environment, where client and patient care are key.
