We are currently recruiting on behalf of an independent veterinary group in Ashbourne, Derbyshire who are looking for a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. The position will be either 4 or 5 days per week based on the candidates preference, with a very minimal and not essential weekend and on-call rota.
The practice is part of an independent veterinary group that work with both small and large animals, however this position would be purely in the small animal department. In addition to the Gold Standard anaesthetics, anaesthetic monitoring, Endoscopy, Ultrasound and Digital Radiography, ECG, blood pressure monitoring and in-house laboratory testing, the practice offer nurse consultations, physiotherapy, a cattery, and acupuncture.
The location is a pleasant market town not far from the Peak District National Park.
During the week there will be varied 7.5 hour shifts between 8:30-19:00 and the out of hours rota is 1 night every 2 weeks. There is an answering phone system and the nurse would subsequently be called if required. If working on the weekend rota it would be roughly 1:9, Saturday morning until 13:00 and 2 hours on a Sunday morning.
The practice are offering a competitive salary dependent on experience, a generous 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, CPD allowance of £650 per year plus 5 days to take for CPD, and staff discount on veterinary products.
The Candidate must be enthusiastic and friendly and all levels of experience will be considered.
