We are working with a client with a growing practice in the beautiful spa town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire that is looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon on a full or part-time permanent basis.
This practice offers the latest state-of-the-art equipment, to ensure prompt diagnoses and the most effective treatments. Their purpose built, modern surgery has been designed to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including in-house operating theatre and laboratory, digital x-ray, specialist dental equipment and much more. Their highly trained veterinary surgeons and nurses are kept constantly updated on the latest innovations and protocols. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and they are always committed to providing exceptional veterinary services. You will be joining a team of 10 vets and 14 nurses. Based in Ilkley on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Leeds is only 30 minutes away by train.
This position is for a full or part-time permanent veterinary Surgeon. Ideally you will have 3-4 years initial experience, so be able to operate without support and in some sole charge situations. The large practice in Yorkshire is very supportive with a great reputation as a training practice. This role would mainly be from Ilkley, although there might be some branch work at Skipton or Glusburn. Our client runs their own out of hours which at present is 1 in 5 (1 weekend nights covered by a night vet, 1 weekend days and nights) and 3 week nights in 5 weeks. This is negotiable as there can be a second on call to support less experienced vets. Salary would be dependent on experience.
You must be a vet with a genuine passion for animal welfare and client care. Experienced vets will be confident with routine surgical and medical cases. Newly qualified applicants will be eager to learn and put their theory into practice with the support of this welcoming team. You will be passionate about providing an excellent service and working as part of a highly-skilled team. Enthusiasm and energy are a must, as is a willingness to communicate with colleagues and clients, in the best interests of your patients. You will also have the opportunity to study towards a certificate as this is strongly encouraged.
