We are currently working with a practice that is looking to recruit a Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time basis for their small animal practices between Melton Mowbray and Grantham.
This practice is a family run independent practice which has been established for the last 19 years in Melton Mowbray they then opened another high quality practice in Grantham in 2002.
Both practices can be run completely separately as both have on site haematology, biochemistry, portable glucose kits, blood pressure monitors, ECG machines, pulse oximeters, digital radiography, doppler ultrasound, separate dog and cat kennels, air conditioning, independent operating rooms, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, colour video endoscopy.
The candidate must have at least 6-12 months experience of small animal work. They must have good communication skills and be familiar with the common UK vaccination protocols and drugs used in small animal practice. They must have a safe anaesthetic protocol and that they are confident with and be able to do the common small animal surgical procedures with minimal support. The practice are happy to support a confident veterinarian but you must have had experience to at least run your own consultations.
This role is a permanent position working a 40 hour week, weekends are 1:4 but only Saturdays, a day off in lieu follows a weekend, no OOH as they use Vets Now.
In return they offer a salary from £30,000 ( New Graduates), £32,000 - £34,000 (depending on years of experience), three days CPD with £1500 allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays per year. They also pay RCVS and VDS fees.
