We are currently working with an independent practice in Poole, Dorset who are looking for a full-time Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join their expanding farm team in a fully supportive, modern, professional environment, striving for the highest standards in first opinion practice.

The Practice:

The practice is a modern country veterinary clinic providing care for all animal species, and have been supplying veterinary services for over 80 years. They have three separate dedicated veterinary teams providing experienced care for small animals, equines and farm animals. The farm team is made up of 5 dedicated farm vets, each with their own areas of expertise, and the practice continue to undertake their own research initiatives as well as investing in the latest veterinary technologies, including embryo transfer work. The farm team provides prompt 24 hour emergency cover over a 20-mile radius. The practice pride themselves on always going the extra mile for their clients, consistently delivering a high quality of service, including a full program of educational talks and practical courses. 

The Role: 

This is a full-time permanent Farm veterinary surgeon position. Weekday hours are from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm with an on-call schedule of 1:4 (including weekends). The role consists of routine dairy fertility work, and you will have access to equipment such as ultrasound scanners, bull and ram fertility testing, in-house laboratory, embryo transfer, Total Vet and Interheard X-rays, plus nurse supported in-house operating and hospitalisation facilities. 

The Candidate: 

The ideal candidate will have experience of working as a farm vet, there is a large amount of sole charge required with this position as you will be travelling to farms alone to treat patients. The practice are offering a generous salary commensurate with experience, as well as 30.5 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), car provided, relocation packaged, CPD and further studies encouraged and funded. There is the possibility for progression to a partnership for the right candidates, but enthusiastic recent graduates may also apply for consideration.
