We are working with a well established practice based in Walsall, West Midlands that is looking to recruit a small animal Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

The purpose built, modern surgery has been designed to industry leading standards and has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including digital X-ray, ultrasound and in-house laboratory facilities. They are ideally based 10 minutes from the M6 minutes and have free parking on site.

The Partner and Veterinary Surgeon, is a 13 years qualified advanced practitioner and specialises in ophthalmology and orthopaedics. Her practice has gone from strength to strength with a team that includes experienced and qualified nurses, a reception team, along with an advanced practitioner & certificate holder in practice offering referral investigation/surgery. Whilst enjoying a great mix of consults, surgical cases and a varied caseload, the team are dedicated to providing superb standards of client and animal care.

The Role:

This is a permanent position for a Veterinary Surgeon. The position is full-time and will include Saturday mornings on a 1 in 3 basis but no OOH or Sunday’s, meaning all colleagues can enjoy an excellent work/life balance.

The Candidate:

This is a great opportunity if you are a vet with a little experience, or if you have experience and are looking for the next step in your career and wish to expand your skills, knowledge and possibly undertake further studies, as you will work in a well-established practice whilst having the benefit of working alongside colleagues across two locations. The practice is busy with routine surgeries, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and diagnostic imaging which the successful applicant will work alongside.

Successful applicants should be confident in an occasional sole charge role and as this role plays a key part within a small, friendly team the ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible. You should also have good general surgical and medical skills and experience in emergency surgery.
