We are working with a large state of the art practice in Haverhill, Suffolk who are looking to recruit a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse on either full or part-time basis. They are looking for a RVN with 2 years post grad experience to join their busy practice. This role comes with the fantastic opportunity to grow and develop with the potential to become Practice Manager in the future.

The Practice:

The Practice has been specifically designed to facilitate the highest level of care with full laboratory services on site, highest quality digital radiography suite, two operating rooms and separate cat and dog wards, ensuring every pets' visit will be as comfortable as can be made with as little stress as possible. The radiography suite holds a high resolution digital x ray machine. Every vet can use the digital system to enhance pictures and this provides greatly improved diagnostic abilities, keeping anesthetics and sedation to a minimum because fewer views are necessary and pictures are processed quickly. There are also several ultrasound scanners, each for a different purpose. There is an on site laboratory which is fully staffed and equipped for fast results, be it blood samples, urine tests, cytology or skin tests. Also providing tests for breeding timing and semen quality in all species. Full dental services are also available using modern ultrasonic scalers and polishing instruments, with more sophisticated air powered equipment for more advanced or extensive treatments.

The Role:

The role can be either full time working 38.5 hours or part time working 30 hours per week. The shifts are Monday to Friday with core hours of 08:00 - 19:00 which would be a full day, which if working full days this would be 4 days per week, however, shorter shifts can be discussed at interview.

The out of hours requirements is 1 night during the week on call and the weekend would be 1 in 4 from Friday night through Monday morning with a shift in practice on the Saturday 08:30-13:00, you are able to be at home whilst on call over the weekend. The weekend in additional to your working hours so there will be an additional retainer fee paid to you for this.

You may be required to supervise some students, usually 1 per year. Typical daily routine will consist of the morning being the operating nurse or float nurse, then the afternoon clean and prep for next day and care for patients.

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of £11 per hour with encouraged CPD and potential progression to Practice Manager, however this is not essential. You will be joining a friendly team with fantastic facilities and opportunities should you wish to progress.

The Candidate:

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse with 2 years experience? Are you a good team player? Confident enough to supervise a student? Confident and competent in all aspects of veterinary Nursing? Do you have a can do attitude, and are bubbly and friendly?

Our client is looking for a confident and competent RVN in x-rays, lab work, bloods, catheters, anesthetics, restraining animals and nurse clinics.
