We are working with a large established practice in Whitland, Pembrokeshire who, due to expansion, are looking to recruit a permanent full-time small animal Veterinary Surgeon with 2-4 years experience to assist with the development and growth of their small animal practice.

The Practice:

This large practice has a large team that includes Vets, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Administrators and Reception staff. This is a mixed practice treating both companion and large animals, offering a wide range of services from micro-chipping, animal dentistry, neutering and pet passports through to a calf tracker scheme, TB testing and farm fertility visits.

Additionally, the veterinary nurses provide care and support for all small animals, as well as running regular clinics throughout the week. 

The Role:

This is a full-time role for a small animal veterinary surgeon with flexibility of either 5 shorter days between the hours of 08:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday or 4 longer days (with a 18:30 finish at the latest). There are no weekend requirements and the OOH is 1:6 on Thursdays small animals only. You will need to be comfortable with sole charge as there will be periods of this. You will be required to cover both consults and operations (operations in the morning and consults in the afternoon) and may need to support newly qualified members of the team.

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of between £33,000 - £40,000 p/a (DOE). There is a bonus scheme in place for the growth of the business and the possibility of progression to Director/Partner. Our client are also offering accommodation and a use of a company vehicle.

The Candidate:

Are you a qualified small animal Veterinary Surgeon with 2-4 years experience? Are you ambitious with a keen interest to help grow and develop the business? Are you able to take responsibility and problem solve?

You will be joining an independent friendly and supportive team with an easy going and flexible attitude. You must be willing to occasionally support fellow vets.
