We are working with a small animal practice based in Ashford, Kent that has an exciting position for a Veterinary Surgeon. This is full-time and based over 4 days to create an excellent work/life balance.
This Veterinary Hospital is housed in a purpose built, air-conditioned, building, with ample free car parking. The hospital is headed by one of the Directors, with a large team of vets who are all experienced general practitioners.
In addition, each member of the team has their own area of special interest, including all aspects of internal medicine, cardiology, radiology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. The nursing team consists of Qualified Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and nurses undergoing training within the practice.
The hospital has been independently inspected by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and been accredited to its highest standard, of a tier 3 hospital. They are also an accredited training practice for veterinary nurses.
This role is for a permanent full-time first opinion Veterinary Surgeon. The position is over 4 days a week with no overnight emergency out of hours.
You should be a confident surgeon with general surgical and medical skills and experience in emergency surgery, capable of working sole charge at times, and with a strong customer-service focus. You will be passionate about providing an excellent service and working as part of a highly-skilled team. You will also enjoy a variety of cases and have the ability to work these up to a high standard. Enthusiasm and energy are a must, as is a willingness to communicate with colleagues and clients, in the best interests of your patients. You will also have the opportunity to study towards a certificate as this is strongly encouraged.
