We are working with a referral practice based near Edinburgh, Scotland that is looking for a full-time permanent small animal Veterinary Dentist.

The Practice:

They are a 100% referral dental and oral surgical practice based near Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. They were the first dedicated veterinary dental practice in the UK and have been established for over 20 years.

Our clients’ practice is currently located close to Edinburgh, Scotland. Edinburgh is the ancient capital of Scotland and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The practice itself is in a small, scenic, harbour town with an outstanding quality of life and leisure opportunities. It benefits from a direct rail line into Edinburgh and beyond

A new 3,000 sq. ft. purpose built clinic is planned to open in spring 2019 with state of the art facilities on a campus by a full-service veterinary hospital with CT scanning and 24/7 hospital facilities. They currently have one diplomat (AVDC & EVDC) plus two AVDC residents. Their support staff includes the only VTS (dentistry) nurse outside North America.

The caseload is 100% referral and draws from the North of England and all of Scotland. The majority of their caseload is dogs and cats with zoo animals also treated. They have close ties with the University of Edinburgh Veterinary School whose facilities include the world-class Riddell-Swan Cancer Centre.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent position for a small animal Veterinary Dentist. The exact working pattern together with any weekend or out of hour requirements is to be confirmed.

The ideal candidate will be board certified by either the AVDC or EVDC. Board eligible or other candidates will also be considered. This is a senior position that will require excellent clinical skills, leadership, energy and commitment to our clients’ long-standing group of referring veterinarians. Applicants must hold a veterinary degree allowing registration to practice in the UK by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. The start date is negotiable.
