We are working with a fantastic independent mixed practice located in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, that is looking for a mixed veterinary surgeon to join their team. Consideration will be given to paying relocation costs for the right candidate.
The Isle of Lewis is steeped in history and culture, ranging back thousands of years. With a population of 30,000, Gaelic is still spoken on the island alongside English. The island offers a fantastic lifestyle with plenty of cultural and sporting activities available, parks and gardens, boat trips, historical attractions, with beautiful beaches and wildlife too!
The practice is friendly and welcoming and is well integrated into the community. They have 2 consulting rooms, operating theatre, grooming facilities, with a supportive team of 4 vets and one nurse to support operations as well as a team of admin staff.
The practice sees a split of roughly 70% small animal and 30% large, with minimal equine work. This is a full-time, permanent position working approximately 40 hours per week, with 1 in 4 out of hours rota, and a weekend rota of 1 in 4.
The ideal candidate will be friendly and happy to integrate into the island community and lifestyle. The practice is willing to consider vets of all experience levels as their existing team is experienced and able to offer support.
