We are currently recruiting on behalf of a small animal veterinary group based in Cambridgeshire who is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team in Whittlesford (which is close to Cambridge) on a full time, permanent basis.

The Practice:

Our client has practices across North London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, which includes four 24-hour emergency hospitals and a specialist referral centre in London. They have nearly 300 staff, including specialists in Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology and Emergency and Critical Care, staff with certificates in feline practice, and residency trained consultants in anaesthesia and analgesia and internal medicine. Due to the various sizes of our clients' practices, the pace of work ranges from quieter practice through to a busy hospital.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent role for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse that has an interest in or previous work experience in all areas of hospital practice.

You will be working 42 hours per week, 8 hours shifts between 07:45-20:15, with a weekend rota of 1 10 Saturdays. There is also an on-call requirement of 3 per year.

You will work across all areas of the hospital - surgery, procedures, wards and consultations.

The Duties:

This is a hands-on nursing role and you will work clinically in all aspects of nursing to ensure the care of your assigned patients. This will include consults, procedures, and responsibilities on the hospital wards. You will be able to work under your own initiative to promote new ideas whilst also supporting the training and development of students in your capacity as a Clinical Coach as well as sharing best practice with the wider team. You will share our clients' vision and deliver outstanding service and care to patients and clients, as well as non-group practices that utilise the practices out-of-hours service.

You will be responsible to the Head Nurse, and your role is to assist in ensuring the smooth running of the practice whilst maintaining the high standards of patient and client care.

The Candidate:

Our client is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse with an interest in or previous work experience in all areas of a hospital.

The Essential Experience Required:

·      Outstanding skills in patient care

·      2-3 years post graduate experience

·      Must have an involved attitude with a strong patient focus

·      Excellent client care

·      Working experience of MS Office and a Practice Management System

The Desirable Experience Required:

·      A Veterinary Nurse hat has experience working in a hospital

·      Clinical coaching and/or training experience

·      Will have had exposure to Emergency and Critical Care cases

·      Have experience working with EZVet Practice Management System

Personal Skills & Qualities:

·      You will have excellent communication skills

·      Possesses the ability to multitask in a busy hospital environment

·      Will have the ability to work well in a team

·      Will be open and approachable

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of between £20,000-£23,000 p/a (DOE) with overtime available if you are interested.
