We are working with an independent, small animal practice in Sevenoaks, Kent, that has a growing reputation as one of the most progressive and forward thinking practices in the UK. They are looking for an experienced Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Practice:

This practice was initially a mixed practice when established over 100 years ago, but today they are a small animal practice focusing on high levels of service to their growing client base. Their equipment and facilities include:

  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Dental services
  • Laboratory services
  • Rehabilitation and fitness
  • Dermatology
  • 24-hour hospitalisation and emergency care

They aim to consistently deliver the highest levels of clinical care with their strong ethos in preventative health care. Their Pet Health Club actively encourages strong membership with excellent value including 15-minute consultations.

Situated in Sevenoaks, this is a perfect location in the ‘Garden of England’ - Kent with London only 35 minutes by train.

The Role:

This role is a full time, permanent position, working Out of Hours shifts on a 3-week rota as follows:-

  1. Monday to Sunday nights on call 17.30-08.00
  2. Saturday and Sunday 08.00-18.00 including Saturday morning consultations
  3. Off rota

It is envisaged that unless there is an emergency, you will sleep in the provided on-site accommodation. There will also be an Out of Hours Nurse on duty to share inpatient cover, as well as an animal care assistant until late evening and early morning. In this role, you will be undertaking emergency care, home visits, consultations and surgical operations, and in return, our client is offering an excellent salary and benefits package, subject to experience, including:-

The Candidate:

This practice looking for someone who is ambitious and passionate about working to the highest of standards as an integral part of a happy team. You will be working in a positive environment where working up your own cases and building relationships with clients is positively encouraged, along with developing your skills through CPD. You should be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and you will have a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience.
