We are currently looking for a full time Veterinary Nurse for a lovely independent practice situated in Clapham. The practice is looking for either a registered veterinary nurse or a confident 2 year student veterinary nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.

General duties will involve preparing animals for surgery, holding and monitoring animals during operations and maintaining, sterilising and laying out surgical equipment. You will also be required to clear up after surgery and help undertake diagnostic tests, you will help with preparing and sending off laboratory samples as well as taking x-rays. You will also help with the administering of drugs, anaesthetics and injections.
A large part of the role involves caring for, exercising and grooming animal ‘in-patients', giving advice to owners about caring for and breeding animals.
You will have to keep clear and concise records, writing and filing reports is a very important part to the role also.
The ideal candidate must have two years veterinary nurse experience, however they will take student nurses in their 2nd year. The role is 40 hours/ week 1:3 Saturdays. All typical nurse duties, as well as reception cover as and when needed.
