We are currently recruiting on behalf of a lovely practice in Hornsea, East Yorkshire that is looking for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their 6 Vet team. 

•     Mixed (70% small/15% equine/ 15% farm) Veterinary Surgeon 

•     Ideal candidate to have at least 2 years of experience although new graduates considered

•     Full time with out of hours

The Practice:

Our client has been established since 1940s and to this day remains true to its origins as a thoroughly mixed practice. They have 2 clinics, offering a range of services to their clients across East Yorkshire.

Their aim is to provide excellent veterinary care and customer service, with good value for money. They provide assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by their own dedicated and friendly team of Vets, Nurses and Receptionists. 

Within their practice, they offer medical, surgical and ambulatory services. They can perform many diagnostic procedures in house, offering same day results where ever possible. They also offer complimentary therapies, such as acupuncture and homeopathy, courtesy of one of their talented Vets.

The Role:

Our client is looking for a mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their 6 Vet Team. As well as the Vet team, they have an excellent support team of 7 Nurses and 4 reception staff across 2 sites, which are around 10 miles apart.

This is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday between 8.30-19.00. Shifts are either 8.30-19.00, 8.30-17.00 or 8.30-13.00. Night duties are 1 night per week 1st on Duty and 1 night per week 2nd on duty.

Weekends are 3:6 consisting of:

1:6 Saturday 8.30-12.00

1:6 Saturday 8.30-12.00 1st on call Saturday, 2nd on call Sunday

1:6 Saturday 8.30-12.00 2nd on call Saturday 1st on call Sunday

This means - 3 weekends off in 6 which are either Friday lunchtime till Monday or Thursday evening till Monday. They also try to give the vet who was on duty on Friday and working Saturday morning the following Monday as their day off.

For this role, you would have a minimum of 2 years of experience, although a really confident new graduate would be considered.

Hours: Monday - Friday between 8.30-19.00. Shifts are either 8.30-19.00, 8.30-17.00 or 8.30-13.00.

Branch work: Between 2 locations, around 10 miles apart

Skill requirements/experience: Confident and competent with routine surgery, good communication skills
