This could be the opportunity that you are looking for. We are working with a client with a practice based in Oldham, Lancashire that is looking to recruit a small animal Lead Veterinary Surgeon (with a medicine bias) on a full-time permanent basis. This position has excellent partnership opportunities.

The Practice:

This well-established business of 17 years has a large and varied client/patient base which is still growing. This small animal practice is based at a very convenient location with ample car parking and close to the motorway network.

The bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including x-ray, ultrasound, haematology, BP, ECG, operating theatre and in-house lab. The team are very motivated, enthusiastic and welcoming and currently have 1 permanent vet and a regular locum, 4 nurses and 2 reception colleagues. By joining them, you’ll become part of a progressive surgery dedicated to providing the highest standards of care to clients and their pets.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent position for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon. This position is 40 hours per week including 1 in 3 weekends, Saturday 09.00 – 18.00 and Sunday 11.00 – 17.00 but no out of hours.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have good general small animal surgical and diagnostic skills along with a desire to explore and complete full work up on cases to compliment the current vet team who have special interests in orthopaedics. The practice provides full support and encouragement and allows clinical freedom for continued personal growth and development. They are looking for someone confident, friendly and enthusiastic with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

CPD is encouraged and funded, with opportunities for certificates. A relocation package is also available for the right candidate.
