We are currently recruiting an entrepreneurial Lead Veterinary Surgeon for a brand new state-of-the-art practice in St John’s Wood in the City of Westminster. This is a full-time permanent position that would suit an experienced vet that has the desire and drive to grow a new practice.

The Practice:

Our client is based within walking distance to St John's Wood tube and Regents Park, it's situated near to the High Street in one of the most affluent areas of the capital. This purpose built practice is finished to a high standard, equipped with two consult rooms, theatre, CR x-ray and dental x-ray, in-house lab, kennels and feeds into their well-established Hendon region, where all out-of-hours care will be managed by their experienced night team. They have an excellent support structure in place and take pride in their collaborative approach. This is a brand new purpose build practice, part of a larger group and is the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to build the team and client base.

The Role:

This position is sole charge with very close support from other vets in the group. You will have the opportunity to visit different practices within the group, calling upon their experienced vets for advice - they also have monthly meetings where you can get to know the other vets within the group and discuss clinical matters.

This position would suit an experienced Lead Vet or someone with a minimum of 5 years experience looking to take their next step in their career. This is a brand new practice so along with clinical duties, you will be responsible for building the client base and management duties with very close support from the wider group.

This position is to work on a 4-day rota with 1:3 Sat or Sun, or 1:6 full weekends and does not currently require you to work any OOH.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with exceptional written and spoken English language skills. You must demonstrate initiative and leadership skills, be responsible for a small team and working together to make your mark on this highly sought-after and peaceful area of North London. A desire and drive to grow the business and cement your reputation in the area as the go-to place for companion animal care is a must.

In return, our client is offering a fully negotiable salary plus fantastic benefits including £10,200 housing allowance, company car or car allowance of £2,500, £1,500 CPD allowance plus 3 days CPD leave, RCVS, VDS and BVA memberships and 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.
