We are currently working with a long established, independent Veterinary Practice based in Colne, Lancashire, who are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly team on a permanent basis. This recently renovated practice offers a small animal, farm animal, and equine veterinary service to its clients. The position will suit an applicant with 2 years experience or even a newly qualified graduate who has the desire to focus on continued learning.
An approved Veterinary Nurse training centre and member of the Royal College Practice Standards Scheme, our client is able to offer in-house 24-hour emergency services, 365 days a year.
Their medical and surgical suites have recently undergone extensive renovation. The surgical suite consists of:-
- Two Theatres
- Dental Suite
- Diagnostic suite (including digital radiography, scanners, ECG and endoscopes.)
- Prep area
The Medical suite includes:-
- Dog ward
- Cat ward
- Holding kennels
- Food prep area
CPD is actively supported at this practice with nurses encouraged to run nurse clinics and help in the development of a growing practice.
This role is a full-time, permanent position working 36.5 hours per week with a weekend rota of 1 in 10 Saturdays 08.30 - 16.30. Additional out of hours requirements are 1 in 10 weekends on call plus 1 night on call every other week. The role will involve all aspects of nursing, including medical and surgical duties, depending on experience.

Our client is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual with good, all round nursing skills. Ideally, you will have at least 2-years post graduate experience, but applications from newly-qualified graduates will also be considered. You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be a strong team player.
