We are working on behalf of our client who is looking for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its specialist small animal Veterinary Practice, based near Godalming in Surrey. The practice is looking for a nurse with previous experience in referral nursing but will also be happy to consider applications from RVNs with first opinion practice experience.
The practice is located against a beautiful backdrop in rural Surrey and has Veterinary Surgeons who specialise in the treatment of orthopaedic and neurological conditions in small companion animals.
The practice is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and has facilities including:-
- Custom built patient wards with glass doors to allow a wide field of view for the animals.
- Digital imaging system including MRI, CT, and Arthroscopy
- In-house Physiotherapists
- A rehabilitation centre within the building
This overnight nursing role is ward based and includes monitoring and providing analgesia and treatments to patients with a wide range of conditions, and the provision of advanced nursing care. Nurses are supported by a vet on duty throughout the night and highly trained auxiliaries who walk and feed patients and look after their husbandry requirements, allowing nurses to focus on nursing.
Night nurses work 7 shifts on, 7 shifts off with hours of 20.30 - 08.30, allowing plenty of time for travel, study, and hobbies. Accommodation may be available during the week that you are working, subject to availability.

You will be a registered and experienced nurse who is driven to provide a high level of nursing care to patients and able to use your own initiative. Your ability to be forward thinking, show empathy and demonstrate exemplary teamwork is essential. Previous experience in referral nursing is highly beneficial but our client also encourages applications from RVNs with several years’ post-qualification, first opinion practice experience.
