We are working with a caring professional small animal practice in Monmouth that is looking to recruit a New Graduate Veterinary Surgeon. This is a full-time position where you will be supported and included in all aspects of the daily duties within the practice.
This practice is part of a small group of small animal surgeries that provide a caring and professional service with a friendly devoted team of 11 vets, 10 nurses, and receptionists. They provide a complete array of services, including surgical operations, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and nurse clinics. They can also provide hospitalisation and out of hours care at their main practice, where nurses live on site to ensure the care of patients. They also employ vets with special clinical interests, including soft tissue, orthopaedics, cardiology, radiology, ultrasound, dentistry, exotic pets, and children's pets.
This is a full-time position where you will be working 4 days a week with a weekend rota of 1 in 9. You will also be included in the out of hours rota with weeknights of 1 in 10, with dedicated back up for the first year allowing you to learn how to treat those exciting cases without fear.
Your duties will include consulting, operating and hospital work with possible sole charge (which is dependent on how comfortable you feel with this). You will be based at the main practice with some branch work required.
In return, our client is offering an excellent salary of circa £30,000 p/a, plus a £2,000 bonus (payable after the end of year 1 and 2), 28 days holiday (incl Bank holidays) and RCVS & VDS fees paid. Certificates are also supported at this practice if this is of interest in the future.
This is a New Graduate Veterinary Surgeon position. They are looking for a vet with great interpersonal skills that is also empathic and resilient. You will have a caring friendly manner and great animal care.
