We are currently recruiting an Experienced Veterinarian for a Medical Director position for a state-of-the-art AAHA Accredited hospital in Birmingham, Michigan.

The Practice:

Our client is a well-established Veterinary Hospital founded in 1933 and AAHA accredited since 1954 and has built a reputation for their clients and patients to be at the center of everything they do. Our client is a full-service Veterinary Hospital with state of the art facilities including having an industry leading Orthopedic Surgeon on the team. Facilities include a modern surgical suite and examination rooms, digital X-Ray, In-House medical and diagnostic laboratory, and an on-site pharmacy.

The Role:

This position is for an Experienced Veterinarian and Medical Director to lead a team of 8 Veterinarians and 40 support staff. The role will consist of around 35-40 hours a week average, with 75% of that time on the floor as a Veterinarian and 25% working behind the scenes as Medical Director.

Duties and responsibilities will include all clinical duties including diagnosing, perform surgery and treat an array of patients, be proficient in all laboratory procedures, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills. As Medical Director you will be expected to set standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical areas. Have the ability to lead and establish a vision for the practice team, maintain practice growth and review financial reports, have the ability to manage time, prioritize, and thrive in an often fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

The Candidate:

This position would suit a highly motivated Veterinarian who can lead a team and set standards of care and protocols in medical and surgical areas. You must have the ability to lead and establish a vision for the practice team, manage time, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
