We are currently recruiting a Lead Veterinarian for a well established multi-doctor hospital in Utica, Michigan

The Practice:

Our client has been serving clients and pets in the area for over 50+ years! The hospital sports 4 exam rooms, a dental x-ray, Veruca freeze, in house blood machines and a surgical laser. Our client's services and facilities include Routine Veterinary Care, Urgent and Emergency Care, Digital Xrays, Dental Radiography, Advanced Surgeries, Orthopedics, Fully Stocked Pharmacy, Dental Cleaning and Extractions, and Microchipping.

The Role:

This Lead Veterinarian position is a multifaceted position with a mixture of clinical and management duties working with a team of highly motivated and experienced colleagues. While under the supervision of the Hospital Manager for all non-medical work topics and the Regional Medical Director, you must be able to effectively and accurately diagnose, perform surgery, and treat an array of patients. Be proficient in a variety of skills including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, diagnostics, dental, and nursing skills. Have a proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including the use of all standard medical instruments and equipment. With this role comes a number of management duties including maintain practice growth and review financial reports, work collaboratively with the Practice Manager for administrative management. Provide feedback and changes to the training program, Mentor employees in the training program, Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well, Mentor employees for career advancement and personal development towards goals and provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations. The working rota/schedule is completely negotiable for the right candidate. This position is full time working 35 hours a week (negotiable).

The Candidate:

This position would suit a highly motivated Veterinarian with a minimum of 5 years of post-graduation clinical experience. Our client is looking for someone who can lead a team and set standards of care and protocols in medical and surgical areas. You must have the ability to lead and establish a vision for the practice team, manage time, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

In return, our client is offering a fantastic packing including a salary of circa $100,000 - $110,000+ (subject to experience), Production bonus, Health Insurance, Paid Holidays, 401K with 4% match plus much more. To be eligible for the role you must be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university prior to position start date and have licensure in good standing to practice in the state.
