We are working on behalf of a high quality, modern small animal practice based in Bicester who wish to recruit a permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their expanding team.
This RCVS accredited practice performs surgery on the premises in its modern operating suite using the most up to date anaesthetic drugs and equipment. They also have the benefit of vital sign monitoring equipment to ensure patient safety during anaesthesia. X-rays, ultrasound and other diagnostic procedures are performed using the latest equipment and safety precautions so that they quickly identify the cause of any problems. In addition, there are many Vets at the practice with Advanced Practitioner qualifications and Certificates in Anaesthesia, Cardiology and Internal Medicine.
This is a full-time role to join a team of 6 experienced RVNs and a team of VCAs and trainee Nurses. The practice runs on a 9-week rolling rota as follows:
Days - either 5x8 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts Monday to Friday between 07.00-19.00
Nights - 1 week of nights working Monday to Sunday 18.30-07.30 with 8 days off following this.
The nights involve checking any inpatients and taking the emergency phone. This isn't a sleeping shift but during quiet periods you are able to sleep.
Weekends are also on a 1 in 9 rota of Saturday and Sunday 07.00-19.00 with the Thursday and Friday off prior to that weekend and the Monday and Tuesday following that weekend.
In return, our client is offering a competitive salary dependent on experience (£21,000 for a newly-qualified RVN) plus 16 days holiday, Bank Holidays, £500 CPD, RCVS and VDS fees paid.
You should be a competent Registered Veterinary Nurse with good communication and team skills.
