We are working with an independent Farm Animal Veterinary Practice in the Worcestershire area that is looking for an experienced or new graduate to join them on a full-time permanent basis.
Our client is a farm animal only practice, covering Worcestershire. The practice was set up in 2010 and now has 8 vets, and fairly quickly the practice has expanded to include Shropshire and surrounding areas, giving farmers priority service and competitive medicine prices. Our clients aim to offer a first-class service at a reasonable cost. They try to ensure that the business is efficient and simple and maintains low overheads. They operate differently to conventional veterinary practices in that they do not generate most of the revenue on the back of sales of pharmaceuticals; drugs are sold at competitive rates (e.g. compared to internet suppliers.) They charge a single professional hourly rate to encourage the farmers to be organised and to demonstrate transparency in charging. The vets have fully equipped vehicles to deal with nearly every situation on the farm as well as access to crushes, handling systems, bull fertility testing, foot-trimmers, and staff to help make life easier for both vet and farmer. They do not undertake regular small animal or equine work, preferring to spend the time prioritising farmers and small-holders. They are committed to proving the highest veterinary health care to their clients with out of hours emergency calls. At nights and weekends, phone calls to the practice will be diverted directly to the vet on call.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 5 days a week, usual 08.00 - 17.00 (although this may vary), there will also be 1 night on call and 1 in 4 full weekends. In return, our clients are offering a competitive salary, depending on experience, that includes:
- Competitive salary
- RCVS & VDS fees paid
- Private health care
Our clients are looking for a very ambitious candidate that is a new graduate and upwards. The right candidate should have good communications skills, and competent in all farm skills, and a good all-rounder team player.
