We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading veterinary hospitals based in the Rutland area of Leicestershire who is looking to recruit a full-time Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis.
This well-established independent Veterinary Hospital is set in a wonderful rural location in Leicestershire. Their premises are purpose built and set in 8.5 acres surrounded by rural countryside. They are proud to have Tier 3 hospital status, accredited by the RCVS, and offer extensive hospital facilities and diagnostic equipment both in their equine and small animal department. They also have a clinical association with the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science giving them access to the expertise from leading veterinary specialists as well as the latest equipment and technology. The team is lead by 3 Senior Vets, 4 Assistant Vets, 2 Interns and 7 Nurses.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours per week on average. Out of hours is shared on a 1 in 5 rota working with the duty surgeon, intern and nurse. Typical duties will include routine ambulatory work, competition horse work and referral case management. Mobile digital imaging equipment is available for working up ambulatory cases and you will be supported by an up-to-date referral hospital with MRI, Scintigraphy and CT. You will have lots of opportunities to work up your own caseload with the back up of expert hospital teams, diploma holders, certified surgeons and residents, as well as dedicated nursing staff. You should have at least 3 year's experience and be a dynamic team player who possesses the ambition and enthusiasm to contribute to the excellent reputation of the practice.
