We are working with a small animal pet hospital in the Gillingham area of Kent that is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role, although part-time would be considered for the right candidate, that would suit a vet with at least one-year post-graduate experience.

The Practice:

Our client strives to improve pets’ lives, through prevention, education, and treatment. Every year their dedicated vet teams carry out 2.7 million treatments on 470,000 pets. They have a national network of around 120 high street shops help us to provide these treatments by selling both donated and new goods.

The Role:

Our client is seeking a Veterinary Surgeons to join them on a full-time permanent basis, although part-time hours would be considered for the right candidate. You will be working up to 40hours per week and this will include Saturday mornings on a rota basis of 1 in 6, for which you will receive a half-day off in lieu.

In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient, professional and caring service to clients, providing a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst also promoting pet wellbeing and delivering preventive services.

You will be involved in all aspects of clinical governance at the Pet Hospital, responsible for managing cases cost-effectively, encouraging financial contributions from clients, and making sure that resources are used appropriately.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon and responsible for updating their knowledge by attending regular CPD training. You will have at least three years post-graduate experience and be passionate about the care and service provided to patients and clients.

You will be joining a busy, lively team, so you should be a good team player with strong communication skills. You should be confident in consultations and emergency surgery with some sole charge on Saturday mornings.
