We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse or Head Nurse on a full-time basis to start at a friendly practice, in the Harborough District south of Leicester.

The Practice:

This a friendly mixed veterinary practice treating an array of both small animal and farm animal (not equine), providing a warm, professional service with a high level of care. Located in a market town between Leicester and Rugby. The practice has 8 vets, supported by a team of veterinary nurses, auxiliaries, receptionists and administrators. Providing an approachable, dedicated team with a combined wealth of expertise, interests and compassion for the patients. They offer a comprehensive range of treatments providing a professional and friendly service, demonstrating a high level of care for the client's pets. Using modern diagnostic tools and surgical equipment along with a wealth of skills, interests, ever developing knowledge and passion for animal health and welfare, to ensure pets receive the best care. The practice also offers an extensive range of farm services, focusing on proactive health care while providing training and learning opportunities for farm clients. They provide a friendly, efficient and approachable service. Treating dairy, beef and sheep farms, along with a number of pig, goat, camelid farms and smallholders. The practice also provides 24 hours emergency service.

The Role:

This a full-time position working 38 hours a week, 3 full days and 2 half days, with the half days it will be one morning and one afternoon off although this will be negotiable. A weekend rota of 1 in 5 on a Saturday morning. You will be required to work some out of hours. In return, our client is offering an excellent package that includes:

The Candidate:

By joining the practice you will be part of a well-established team. Our clients are looking for an experienced nurse with a few years behind them or a head nurse. A strong character, who has good organisational skills and enthusiasm to team lead and willing to take control and encourage the team by leading by example. This is a pivotal role aliasing between vets and nurses to ensure the smooth running of the practice. You must be able to delegate and motivate to provide efficient nursing support within the practice.
