We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis to start at a friendly independent practice, in a convenient location just outside Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

The Practice:

The Veterinary Surgery is an RCVS accredited practice based in North Yorkshire. Providing care for cats, dogs, small pets, horses and farms throughout the area. The practice has an emergency on call 24 hours a day, provided by the surgeries own vets. At the surgery, they have a large inviting, air-conditioned reception and waiting area. Fully computerised patient records and billing system. Modern ultrasound, video endoscopy and digital X-ray facilities, full in -house haematology, biochemistry and urinalysis. Two air-conditioned consulting rooms, and also two well equipped operating rooms (with air conditioning in the main room). Air-conditioned kennel area for the small animal patients. The Vets at the surgery are supported by dedicated and caring nursing, reception and administrative staff. They all have a wealth of experience which can be called on to help and advise the clients.

The Role:

This is a Permanent full-time RVN role (but would consider 2 part-time job share which would decrease the OOH requirements) Full time the hours would be as followed: Working Monday - Friday 37 hours with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. The shifts alternate between one week 08.00 - 16.00 and the next 11.00 - 19.00 and then back to 08.00 - 16.00 and so on. When working the late week and your 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, you will cover the OOHs but it is unlikely you will be called out as the Vet answers the calls and usually deals with all the emergencies. It is just in case something extreme comes in. All our clients ask is that you are within 50mins of the practice. They will change your roles depending on the week to keep the role varied ie one-week doing operations, next week doing clinics, next week doing the reception. In return, our clients are offering a generous salary, depending on experience. CPD is encouraged and paid for.

The Candidate:

Our clients are looking for an enthusiastic fully qualified Veterinary nurse, to join the team of 4 vets, 4 nurses, RCVS accredited mixed practice (60% small animal, 25% farm, 15% equine). All levels of experience will be considered. They are looking for someone who is laid back, hardworking and fun with a good sense of humour and passionate about the provision of high-quality service to patients and clients and is able to lead by example and oversea that standards are being met.
