We are currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly independent practice based in a market town, located south of Oxford that is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

The Practice:

The practice is a large mixed practice, which provides veterinary care and advice to pet owners as well as the local farming and equine community. Our clients have several branches across South Oxfordshire. The main branches have extensive modern hospital facilities and are well equipped to deal with a wide range of animal healthcare services. Two of the surgeries aim to provide convenient consultations locally, with surgical and hospitalisation facilities within easy reach at the main surgeries. Livestock and equine care is provided through the large animal department at the Cholsey practice or for Buckinghamshire clients, from Fleet Marston near Aylesbury (farm only) The practice aim is to provide the best veterinary care with the expert team of 7 vets, nurses and support staff and are always on hand to offer excellent service and modern well-equipped facilities including:

  • Orthopaedic operating suite
  • Digital radiography including dental radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy
  • 24-hour on-site nursing team
  • In house IDEXX laboratory
  • OOH service on a shared rota
  • CPD and further specialisation encouraged.
  • Certificates funded

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent position working (40 hours per week) including some night shifts and weekends on a rota basis. The candidate will need a clean driving licence and a car as the applicant will be expected to work across all our practices in South Oxfordshire.

The candidate:

The practice is looking for a very ambitious experienced Nurse with at least 1 -2 years experience required. The successful candidate will be a confident team player with excellent communication skills. They would be required to work alongside our highly skilled veterinary surgeons and nurses and support the care, consideration and treatment of all patients and their owners. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day running of the small animal clinic, providing and supporting the training of the student nurses and the nursing team. A Clinical coach qualification is desirable but not essential as training can be given.
