We are currently recruiting an Associate Veterinarian for a well established and respected hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Ideally, you will be a veterinarian with a couple of years of post-graduate experience in small animal practice, although new graduates would also be considered.
Our client is a full-service small animal hospital that also cares for a variety of exotics. Their services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as pets age; and complete medical, emergency, and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. Services and facilities include Diagnostic Services & Internal Medicine Consults including various diagnostic services, such as radiology (including PennHip), laboratory (including blood work, urinalysis, and microscopic evaluation), Ultrasound, echocardiography, and endoscopy. For specialized diagnostics and consultations, they utilise the services of commercial veterinary laboratories. Their surgical suite is fully equipped to perform various procedures using state of the art equipment. They are the most referred to general practice clinic in the area for orthopedic procedures and specialised surgeries.
This position is offered on a full-time basis in a multi-vet team with great support staff. The working schedule is Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 6 pm and every other Saturday 8 am - 12 noon and every 4 weeks you will have a 4 day weekend as part of your schedule.
- The examination and triage of pets to promptly diagnose their health concerns
- Recommend best practice treatment,
- Perform consults with clients regarding immediate, solutions-based care for their pets
- Perform all basic surgeries, including use of all standard medical instruments and equipment.
- Set standards of care/protocols for medical and surgical areas.
Their facility does have a niche for orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, so experience or an eagerness to assist in this area would be a major plus for the right candidate.
As a Veterinary Professional, you already have a pretty good idea as to the day-to-day requirements of being a great small animal DVM.! You will have a passion for animals and an active interest in their health and well-being and also exhibit a great Paw-Side Manner! Our client is looking for a candidate who is looking to make a positive impact on the local community.
This position is open to candidates of all experiences including new graduates, however, they ideally are looking for someone with a couple of years of experience. As mentioned above our client does have a niche for orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, so experience or an eagerness to assist in this area would be a major plus, however, not essential.
In return, our client is offering a fully negotiable base salary of between $100,000 - $120,000 and rising with experience, a signing bonus of $20,000 - $40,000, Production Bonus, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(K) with Employer Match, Paid Time Off, Paid Continuing Education + dedicated PTO to attend.
