We have a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Director to join a multi-site practice in Gloucester on a full-time, permanent basis.
With 4 branches in the Gloucestershire area, this practice has been extensively redeveloped to provide a modern air-conditioned facility to provide the best veterinary care in Gloucester. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and intensive care facilities for critical care. They have a fully equipped lab so results can be accessed as quickly as possible with back-up from a specialised external lab for more complex investigations The imaging suite includes a state of the art digital X-ray machine with floating bucky table for all things orthopaedic and cardiothoracic, a flexible fibre optic endoscope for gastrointestinal investigation and a colour flow Doppler ultrasound machine for investigating soft tissue diseases and heart disease. One of the strengths of the practice is the extensive range of surgical equipment and surgical expertise they possess which includes:
• Orthopaedics - fractures, growth plate deformities
• OCD surgery
• Cruciate surgery - TTA and De Angelis surgery
• Spinal surgery
• Soft tissue
• Thoracotomy - lung lobectomies
• Pericardial surgery
• Oesophageal surgery
• Total ear canal ablation
• Laryngeal tie back surgery
Across the 4 branches, there are currently 5 Vets and 20 nurses.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Practice hours are Monday to Friday 09.00-19.00 and Saturdays 09.00-13.00. You will be expected to work 4 longer days but there are no out of hours required for this position. As well as consultations and operations, this role has responsibility for managing a well-established team, including rotas, and assuming commercial accountability for the practice.
In return, our client is offering an excellent package that includes a salary of between £60,000-£80,000 depending on experience. For the higher-end of the salary range, the practice is looking for an AVP with lots of relevant clinical and surgical experience as well as strong business acumen.

You should have at least 6 year's experience with a high level of clinical and surgical competence. If you have experience of orthopaedics/cruciates and a medical bias, this would be an advantage. The practice is looking for a mature, people-focused individual who is confident in their ability from both a clinical and business perspective. You should be capable, credible and someone who displays good leadership, passion and integrity.
