We are working with a Veterinary Practice based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, who is looking for a permanent Senior Nursing Manager to join them on a full-time basis. This role would suit an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who has the experience and skills to join the Senior Leadership Team.
Currently comprising of 7 Vets and 15 Nurses, this practice is fully equipped to deal with the widest range of procedures, from check-ups through to more life-saving animal surgeries. They have modern, purpose-built premises which have been recently upgraded to include 7 new consulting rooms, a nurse's occupational treatment room, and a separate pharmacy. In addition, they have the following facilities:
- Digital radiography and ultrasound rooms
- 2 dental suites with dental radiography
- 3 surgical theatres
- MRI & CT scanning
- Chemotherapy suite
- Separate cat, dog, and rabbit wards
Key responsibilities will include:-
People leadership & management where you will be a culture leader of the practice and a positive presence in the workplace. You will also be accountable for the management of the nursing team and directly line managing the Lead Nurses.
Clinical leadership to enable the provision of a uniform, clinically excellent, gold standard patient and client service through a clinical audit and planning and delivery of in house and external training.
Operational integrity where you will work with other members of the Senior Leadership to ensure excellent communication, the smooth running of the practice and practice growth.

You should be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with 5+ years’ experience within clinical practice.
Experience of managing a large team in a multi-site veterinary practice or the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills is required as is the ability to demonstrate excellent knowledge of veterinary nursing professional roles and responsibilities and to articulate what ‘best practice’ looks like in terms of patient care
Ideally, you will be a holder of an Advanced Veterinary Nursing qualification but should at least have evidence of other qualifications/career progression to date.
