We are working with a well established Veterinary Practice based in Rugeley, Staffordshire, who is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis. 

The Practice:

This is a progressive first opinion practice that is committed to excellence. They are well-established, having been in operation for 40 years. Their 2 branches are purpose-built and designed to provide the most comprehensive veterinary care as well as a 24-hour emergency service. The current team consists of 5 Vets, 7 Nurses and 5 admin staff. The practice facilities include:

  • Large, spacious reception and waiting area
  • Large and small animal pharmacies
  • Three consultation rooms at the Rugeley branch
  • Fully equipped operating theatre
  • Diagnostic imaging room with digital X-Ray machine and two portable ultrasound scanners
  • Dental suite equipped with specialised dental table and ultrasonic dental scaler, polisher and drill
  • Large kennel area for in-patients
  • Laboratory

The Role:

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 days with a shift pattern of 3 x 9-hour shifts and 1 x 11-hour shift. Weekends are on a rota of 1 in 2 or 3 Saturday mornings 08.30-12.00 where you will be in sole charge. The role consists of a mix of consults and operations and there may be some branch work to provide holiday cover but there are no out of hours responsibilities. In return, our client is offering a competitive salary and benefits package, depending on experience, including:

The Candidate:

Ideally, you will have at least 5 year's experience and some orthopaedic or diagnostic skills would be an advantage. You should be conscientious, be able to build a good rapport with clients and work well as part of a team. Good surgical skills and the ability to use your own initiative are also important.
