We are working with a fantastic, independent practice based in Aberdeenshire who is looking for a Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis.

The Practice:

This is a multi-award-winning, highly rated practice who run their own 24-hour emergency and hospitalisation service. They are completely independent and have been locally owned by their Directors for over 100 years with a mission to build long-lasting relationships and provide outstanding patient care. The current team comprises of 11 full-time Vets, 4 part-time Vets and 3 visiting specialists. There is also a highly qualified and committed team of nurses and support staff. Small Animal facilities include:

  • Surgical operating theatre with modern anaesthetic facilities
  • Imaging – digital X-ray, ultrasonography and endoscopy 
  • In house laboratory 
  • Separate air-conditioned dog and cat wards
  • Cat only waiting area
  • Medical diagnostic equipment
  • Dental facilities

The farm department draws from years of experience, providing a forward-thinking, progressive service to ensure the best advice for farm clients. Services include:

  • Herd health planning
  • Fertility
  • Nutrition
  • Bull semen evaluation
  • Specialist experience with pigs and sheep

The equine department provides an equine referral service with routine horse visits and a 24-hour emergency service. They offer advanced mobile equine digital radiography, advanced mobile ultrasonography, mobile endoscopy and in-house laboratory facilities

The Role:

 This is a full-time role working 4.5 days per week with most days finishing at 17.00. There will be one late shift every 2 weeks with an 8 Vet rota during the week. Saturdays are on-call with time off in lieu and if on-call over the weekend you will only work 4 days the following week. There will be some sole charge on Saturday mornings. The Candidate:

You should have at least 6 months+ post-graduate experience and be confident in managing your own consultations plus surgical work such as neutering and caesareans. Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a large team is also essential.
